Long delay on Mercedes parts

Has anyone else experienced this? We bought our almost new Marco Polo about two years ago. The refrigerator didn't work from the start. The dealer tried unsuccessfully to repair it, but then said it would order a new fridge under the warranty. This was over 7 months ago. Every time we complain to Mercedes they say there is nothing they can do as it is on back order - and there is a problem. They will not tell me what the problem is or how much longer we will need to wait..
We have therefore endured one of the hottest summers in the UK without this key component working effectively. We paid £77000 for this vehicle.
Incidentally, we love everything about it, so this is so disappointing.

It either switches itself off continuously, or ices everything up even on the lowest setting.
Sounds like a faulty sensor, the basic fridge is the same as used in VWs so it might be worth using an AI search to troubleshoot. I realise that you're under MB warranty and they probably want to swap the whole unit but you also want a working fridge.

Replace the sensor its about £17 from what I recall, its an easy job and worth a try, there are plenty of posts on this forum and a utube vid somewhere

Is it possible that the sensor isn't actually installed properly if it's never worked?

There is not really an incorrect way to install the sensor, it may be that the sensor is faulty , this is a common problem and its worth a try replacing it, save all the waiting around
