Where Marco Polo was born?

Hello friends,
Marco Polo was a Venetian merchant, explorer, and writer who traveled throughout Asia along the Silk Road from 1271 to 1295. He was quite a famous man but I didn't know him. he was born there. Where? So hopefully people can advise.

I believe Marco Polo was born and also died in Venice but I could be wrong

Korcula is my best guess...I'm not sure anyone knows for sure....my MP was born in Spain
