Sleeping bag in the roof

Can I leave a sleeping bag in the in the roof and close it safely has anyone done this

Duvet or sleeping bag is fine as long as its not too thick. Wouldn't leave one there for long periods of time though

I have a 2" thick padded mattress protector that is always up there. No problems.
