Team,
Collected my MP at the weekend from a private sale on here.
Love it already and pleased to be a owner.
However the RCD wont test when pressed , nor will it allow 240v power through to charger the batteries, etc.
Got a quote today £168 from MB just for the part. Not great.
Does anyone else know where to get the part from.
Any help would be appreciated

I can't help as this is the first time on here that I've seen this. As the camper part of the MP is not covered bay any warranty past the original 3 years, is it worth getting a quote from a garage that specialises in caravans/motorhome repairs? The labour from MB will be eye watering i expect!

I suspect the part is fairly standard electrical equipment in Germany. However, even if you manage to source it directly you will have the problem of shipping and duty now that UK is no longer in the EU. I was recently quoted £100 shipping for something. I eventually had delivered to France for 9€ and collected when on holiday.

At the risk of asking the obvious: You do have mains power connected when you press the ELCB test button when the breaker is in the on position - UP.

If so I would be minded to get an auto electrician to look at iyour problem and suspect the mains feed to the ELCB first.
I doubt whether many MB service centres will bother to do much diagnostics. Their approach seems to be to fit a replacement part , at significant expense to see if it cures the problem. Mind you at their labour rates, this approach is probably cheaper than investigation.
An auto electrician /electrician should be able to identify a suitable 240v 30mA ELCB that might fit.
Good luck.

Epigram ,
Many thanks for the reply.
Got a auto electrician coming next week. ( who has to have Mains certificate as well , not all do ) , he is changing the leisure battery ( Not changed for 6 years ) as well as the RCD. I am going away for the first time next weekend, and jus wanted ever thing to be sorted.
Took the plunge and order the £198 RCD from Germany . ( Ridiculous).
On a positive note, ,my Revolution T4 tent arrived yesterday, so did my Bluetti 1000w power pack . Duvalay mattress topper arrived too ( Must say was not expecting it to be a bulky as it is, ( May have made a mistake there) but that is only for the 1 x nighter, otherwise I will be in the blow up bed in the driveway tent, the the children upstairs.
The whole family cant wait.
Looking forward to it.

I hope it all gets sorted. Keep us posted about outcome. It will be a useful reference.
Re the leisue battery. Plenty on here about them failing if they are not kept topped up. Leave on hook up when not in use if you can or get solar panel.
The Duvalay is bulky but comfortable. I had to bribe Mrs Epigram with one because she is a reluctant camper but I have weaned her off it due to space limitations. There are always two kitchen sinks in our MP.!
That said it’s coming out for the first time in three years this weekend because we are off to a wedding and the van is being used as a crash pad, instead of a late night taxi.
Have a great holiday.

I think its wise to change your battery anyway, you don't know how its been treated and 6 years is not too bad a time to change. Avoiding the hassle of a discharged battery whilst out and about is worth it. I try to condition mine with regular mains top ups, plus have a Jackery power pack, really don't want the roof stuck up or the fridge stopping! Enjoy your holiday
