Can you use your car insurance No Claims Discount with the MP?

Also, is it classed as a car derived van so 70 mph on dual carriageways?

I’ve just insured with LV. Did it all on-line but the Marco Polo model was listed and I could select No Claims Discount protection and was asked how many years so there doesn’t appear to be a problem using no claims bonus.

I’ve seen no reference to the MP or VW equivalent being limited in any way other than as a normal car.

It’s classed as a car on the v5 and, yes, you can use your ncd.
I’m going to use Comfort insurance as they are used to insuring campervans such as the California and they gave me a good price. There are other ‘specialist’ insurers as well and the California forum might help you in deciding.

Thanks Roy, seems that it’s classed as a car so no speed restrictions.

This isn't strictly correct - you may not necessarily use your NCD depending on the policy you buy. Some campervan / motorhome insurance policies are 'net' rated which means that they will not use your NCD. Good news: you can use your NCD on another vehicles. Bad news: if your NCD expires (it's not valid indefinately), you'll be reliant on the best introductory discount that you are offered when you leave a 'net' rated scheme. If you've made claims you may not qualify for an introductory discount at all.
