Gas

Hi. Three questions please for the wise old MP owners:-
First, I got myself a spare gas bottle, thinking from some earlier posts that it would be a good idea to have 2 like I do in our caravan. Now it just sits in my garage as I can’t find a suitable safe place in the MP to take it with me. So if I run out on holiday I’m no better off! Any ideas?
Second, has anyone found a reasonably accurate way of working out how much gas is left in a bottle? I have seen gadgets advertised that attach on the side of the bottle and allegedly display how much is inside. Has anyone tried them?
Thirdly, I had the MP serviced (it’s a 2019 model 220D) by an excellent independent Mercedes specialist who charged a fraction of the exorbitant price quoted by MB main dealers, but they weren’t qualified to do the habitation/gas check. So I had that done by the reputable firm that I use for my caravan. The only drawback being that they couldn’t complete the Service record in the MP booklet and couldn’t renew the sticker on the tailgate which still says June 2021. So far as I am aware there is no legal requirement to have that sticker. Question - has anyone successfully removed that sticker? If so, what was the trick to getting it off cleanly?

Perfectly safe imo with the cap on and secured in the van.

907 Total Weight = 6.42kg
Tare Weight = 3.7kg
Gas = 2.72

904 Total Weight = 4.61kg
Tare weight = 2.8kg
Gas = 1.81kg

No legal requirement for the sicker, I've just left it on both vans I've had that had them.

A gas BBQ it can be a useful stopgap to boil water etc. if the gas runs out and is probably more cost effective and better use of space than carrying a spare bottle around.

am I missing something here. surely I would need the spare gas bottle before the gas barbecue could work?!

Not that wise but my thoughts; I carry a £15 single burner with the aerosol style canisters, as use this on a table outside, so not too worried if the internal gas runs out (use the single burner more than the internal). With the sticker, ours is off but we had an insurance repair at the back after a disagreement with a taxi, so no help to you there. It was completed by MB dealership and they didn't replace the sticker, no requirement to do so. I've not had a gas check yet.

Not necessarily we have a small BBQ which operates from a Camping Gaz resealable canister (CV300) and use as Steve B outlines above.
Checking the gas is not on MB’s service list if thats any help.
