Fresh Water tank - easy emptying without tap fuse removal

I have seen numerous posts or instructions that involve removing fuse number 2 and opening the tap to allow air flow when emptying the fresh water tank. This is to prevent an airlock when pulling out the lever in the boot area to open the drain hose.

I may be missing something but I have found the easiest way to empty the fresh water tank is to open the filler cap to allow air flow then pull the drain lever. This simple method has no requirement to remove a fuse which is located awkwardly behind the rear seats.

So 1) Open and remove filler cap 2) Pull drain lever 3) When empty push drain lever back in and put filler cap back on.

I’ve never found airflow to be necessary when emptying the tank.
The main reason for the fuse removal is to be able to leave the tap open to prevent frost damage during the winter.
