Fixing rear overhead cupboard from unintentionally opening

Scrumpy

New Member
Hi
In discussion with Grand Tourismo thought we'd put this out there in case anyone wants to do the same.
I'll keep it brief.

1. Remove the blind by taking off the end caps and unscrewing the 2 grub screws.

2. Remove the door seal low enough to work around.

3. Remove plastic surround, stiff but gently tease it out.

4. 4 hinge bolts, one at a time unscrew and add Washers to the other side - between metal strip and hinge. I used 4 on each bolt to create a large enough gap to allow the latch to engage better.
I used 20mm with 8mm centre.

5. Once all 4 bolts are done, check the gap and door closes, adjust by
adding / removing Washers.

6. Replace plastic surround and door seal, the seal has 2 gaps to fit the door frame and the surround.

7. Reattach the blind.

Job done.
whilst not a difficult job, it is fiddly. This is because of the lining colour. Make sure before any work you have plenty of disposable gloves, I didn't!!!
and clean any marks straight away.

Others might have different ways but worked for me. IMG_20220818_132153.jpgIMG_20220818_132225.jpgIMG_20220813_110107.jpg16603996116574096241454935548826.jpgIMG_20220818_132855.jpg
