We have the same problem and not in warranty. So, I have an update should anyone ever be suffering a similar problem.
Firstly, with MB unable to provide any assistance before my summer trip, I was thankfully able to establish a workaround that meant the lower bed was useable...
The reset button was serving only to bring the seats up by a couple of cms before needing 5 minutes to time out before it could be used again. I got around this by unplugging the curly cable and plugging it in again. After each cycle the reset butting became live again, and so in this way (with 2 people) the seats could be raised in a minute or so by keeping the reset butting held down while unplugging and plugging back in the seats. So far so functional, but not ideal.
On my return, MB had ordered a new seat motor and control unit in accordance with the technical case they had raised with MB Germany. I'm very pleased to report that the seat motor was enough to rectify the problem, and all now appears to be fully functional once again.
I'm hugely glad to have had all this work done under warranty and will be keeping everything crossed that it was a one off!!
I am hoping you can help us.
When you say they replaced the seat motor and controller. Do you know if they replaced both.
We are being told the controller is some thing like £900. After having already spent thousands with Mercedes to have not fixed it we are anxious about spending further.
We can get a motor for less than £100 so hoping just changing this will work.
Don’t suppose your invoice etc shows the parts they replaced to help us try to problem solve.
