Control Panel Disaster

Marco Polo control panel / Leisure Unit problem – part A4475450613


Hi everyone,


I’ve read through the other posts about this issue, but thought I’d post to see if anyone has managed to get theirs repaired or found a replacement.


We have a 2018 Marco Polo. The control panel dial still clicks when you turn it, but the selection on the screen doesn’t move. Pressing it selects the first option, but we can’t get to anything else or switch the panel off.


The part number is A4475450613.


The van is currently with Mercedes for diagnostics because of ABS and engine warning lights. While there, my husband asked the parts department about a replacement panel, but it’s showing as unavailable. We’ve also been told it’s unavailable through Mercedes in Germany and Australia.( contact who work there!)


My husband has spoken directly to Westfalia, who said it’s a Mercedes part so we have to go through them He’s also given Mercedes the Westfalia email address to try.


The panel itself is currently with an electronics company to see if they can work out what’s wrong, but I’m not holding my breath!


I’ve also emailed 1sternehotel to see if they can help.


Has anyone had this fault and managed to get it repaired? Or does anyone know where we might find a replacement, new or second-hand?


Would be really grateful for any leads. If it doesn’t work - it ceases to be a functioning camper van- and a very expensive Vito !

I totally know your pain. I recently damaged, ok broke, our panel by spilling something on it (don’t ask, it wasn’t tea or coffee BUT what a stupid place to put cup holders right next to an electronic panel!). And like you were stuck, in our case with the roof up on a campsite!
Long story short, my husband managed to locate what he was told was the last one in the country, so immediately ordered, paid for and we collected it from MB early September.
We replaced the panel so all good, but I kept the damaged one and have rebuilt it myself. I haven’t tested it yet, and given what I spilt on it am not offering it, however having seen other posts about difficulties with the panel was determined to try and help. I ended up using AI and it found this, see screenshots, they claim to have them for immediate dispatch. I used view genuine part listing link (photo 1) and got to 2nd (originalteile.mercedes-benz.de) where it could be ordered. Not cheap but less than we paid! Ours cost £750. I used translate button as didn’t understand the German.
