Cabin cooling with engine off

Thanks to the horrible Scottish Midge we quickly realised whilst constrained to sitting the van, on a campsite at night and in the searing heat that we need a cooling solution (not beer) for the cabin when the engine is off.

Sadly, it’s pretty frowned upon running the engine on a quiet site so the use of air con wasn’t an option.

So some sort of fan might be in order.

I realise that in the extreme condition where you simply cannot open the windows that any fan wou only shift the hot air around but it would at least move the air.

Has any experienced camper got any good recommendations for a fan/ cooling system ?

It would have to work off 12v socket or usb I suppose.

This has served us well in the MP and now our motorhome during several holidays in south of France and Spain. It definitely helps to cool the cabin.
It’s quiet enough to be able to leave on all night and the battery is good for a few days. It can then be charged from a USB.
There are several to choose from on Amazon/EBay from around £20.
