Auxillary (air) heater malfunctioning

Thought I'd check out the auxillary hot air heater as haven't used in ages and noted the advisory in the MP supplement booklet that this should be "switched on at regular intervals (at least once a month) for approxaimtely 10 minutes."

Comes on briefly and then turns itself off. Have retried successively just in case the fuel line to the unit needs a clear out but keeps doing the same thing. Error message (see pic) suggests that the auxillary heating is malfunctioning and advises "have the auxillary heating checked at a qualified specialist workshop."

Has anyone else experienced this? My MP is just out of warranty (of course!). Would you take to MB or would you take to a habitation/heating specialist? Does anyone know if the MP spec aux heater is actually an Eberspacher?

thanks!MP heater.jpg

The heater has a high current draw at startup so low battery voltage can prevent startup, as does low fuel level in the tank.

MB probably not the best, a quick google search should show up a few places that service diesel heaters, I believe it is an Eberspacher.

Thanks SBD. Aux battery voltage was 12.5v (ie. should be good enough) and had half a tank of diesel.
I had another go today whilst on EHU just in case it was due to a voltage drop and its all working so don't know if it was just draining the aux battery too much (I think unlikely as voltage didn't go below 11.8v) or if yesterday's efforts just blew out the cobwebs.
thanks again
