Another newcomer - be kind!

Hi folks
After hiring a Renault Traffic based camper as a family we have decided we want to buy into the van-life….
We thought about a self build but all the Vauxhall Vivaro / Renault Traffic vans are hammered and rough and my ocd won’t allow me to buy one!
Then we think VW California but I’m not a fan of the whole VW T5/6 van scene as it all seems a bit clicky and overpriced.
Then we saw a Marco Polo and thought THATS THE ONE!
We’ve previously owned a Merc GLC AMG and I own an AMG GT-R so we’re familiar with the brand.
So we’re currently on holiday and I’ll be celebrating my 50th tomorrow in Santorini but the search has begun.
Any for sale?
Any advice?
Any help?
All will be appreciated and thanks in advance

Hi & welcome Chris & Sarah, plenty on here to cover your questions, the search function is a great start. We use ours as a daily driver, which it does well but also weekends away. As with any vehicle it has its niggles, but we've had ours over four and a half years and wouldn't swap it.

I have one listed only on this site. I am not a dealer. It is a 2021 AMG model and is lovely.... But I need to move on and sadly it is now for sale.

You need to experience driving this vehicle. You sit relatively high up and it commands great respect from other drivers - this sounds silly but all MP owners will know exactly what I am getting at. It really is a star among campervans and the MBUX system for me is second to none. I do have experience mainly of driving cars and this feels like driving a luxury car. It is easily and comfortably manageable, particularly with 360 cameras, driver assistance pack and the apps available (referring to the ones I use from the options available). We love the vehicle and I recommend it to anyone. My dealership has been superb to deal with too! Hate the thought of having to sell...

I'm on my second 220d Marco Polo - first was used, second is new (long wait...) both were used for trips away as opposed to daily driver. if you are looking to buy used, I would ensure that it has the diesel auxiliary heater (an expensive option pre-2020) or budget to have one retro fitted - there are specialists who can do the work to a near factory fit quality. You will find that in the pre-2020s, the COMAND system is a bit lacking in features (eg DAB, Appleplay/Carplay); again there are aftermarket solutions. As Steve says, the search function is the best place to start.
