2021 Marco Polo Horizon - No parking camera

Hi. We’ve just purchased a 2021 Marco Polo Horizon 300d. We’re very excited, but it’s 10 months old and doesn’t have a parking camera. Should it?

I’m struggling to find the standard specification for our model but I was under the impression this should come as standard. Hoping if this is the case the wiring might be in place already and it’s an easier job.

It was listed for sale as with a parking camera, but when we turned up it didn’t have one. Garage were unconcerned and told us if we didn’t like it to walk away.

What is the best way to go about getting one retrofitted? Our local mercedes garage?

Hi and welcome to the forum,

It depends what you are referring to as a 'parking camera'. There should be a reversing camera as standard fitment I believe that will show you a view from the rear camera so check by the rear number plate housing for a camera cover.
There is also an option for a 360 degree camera which uses cameras mounted on the underside of each door mirror as well as the front grille and rear camera to simulate a birds-eye view of the vehicle and surroundings. Again, easy to check, just take a look under your mirrors and in the front grille. There would also be a switch on the dash to activate it.
Have you checked the current Horizon 300d for what is and isn't standard fitment? If cameras aren't standard now it's unlikely they would have been standard last year?

Hi SteveR. Thank you so much for your reply and the welcome. I’m so pleased to be a part of this forum. It was a rear camera that we believed to be part of the standard spec and were surprised when we picked up the car to be told it didn’t have one.

Thankfully the garage was wrong. It does have a camera. It had been switched off, so was a very quick fix to switch it back on. I was a bit nervous about parking the car but I’ve enjoyed driving it and parking is now much more manageable too thanks to the camera.

Hi and welcome, watch out for the reversing bleepers and visual indicator lights, OK when you are used to them but they do seem to come on late sometimes. I haven't adjusted mine so as factory setting.
