No Leisure batteries in the UK?

If accessing the battery to clip on - clip off in a fast and easy manner is not possible you could consider making a battery harness to bring out from the battery terminals with a plug in "tail" extension. I have attached an image to explain roughly what I mean.

No Leisure batteries in the UK?

Thanks SBD, I'll have a look when the weather improves, It was more about clipping a portable solar panel on. The lightweight folding ones have moved on over the past year or so and now get good reviews, so was thinking about that.

    Aux Night Heater

Solar like the heater is essential for me. 2 days off grid and the single habitation battery is reaching critical SOC. Even with 100w of solar a couple of cloudless days and your struggling. In winter with the use of the heater, that has a large current draw on start up and shut down, the solar...

    Aux Night Heater

Solar is a nice treat, not something I had considered initially but my van had a PV panel fitted and I am very pleased it has! It just keeps the leisure battery topped up, a bit like a battery maintenance charger, meaning that it remains 100% healthy and ready to go. I did read on here...

    Aux Night Heater

...seems like a respectable chap who knows what he’s talking about and the price is fair. He is also providing a courtesy car and fitting a solar panel for me. our other car is a Merc and we’ve had some shocking experiences with MB servicing departments over the years so he’ll have a customer...

Marco Polo and Horizon roof blistering questionnaire

...unless you know about the issue and get up on the roof this is easily overlooked. I noticed by accident on my first roof when fitting my solar panel. This lead me to the forum when trying to investigate what the problem was with my roof. I do believe it is the result of a hard frost...

    Tiny blisters on roof

I have taken my panels off on both occasions to avoid risking it. I am sure they can see they have been there but interestingly the blisters were also underneath where the panels were located. They are easy to remove just a nuisance having to do so.

    Tiny blisters on roof

Has anyone taken a roof in for review for possible replacement with a solar panel fitted? (I don't want MB to wriggle out on a technicality)

    Feedback needed ragarding battery capacity

Thx guys, very helpful. I expect in winter it will be a bit less than 3 days. It might indeed be a better option to start with just the solar panel and see how it goes with the existing battery.

    Feedback needed ragarding battery capacity

...in which I need to charge a laptop for 3,5 hours + other normal use of the heather, fridge, light - how much km do I need to drive roughly to get this power. Although I understand this is something I will find out eventually, I already consider mountain a solar panel with extra battery. Cheers

...nights) with the fridge on 3 and a couple of lights on for an hour or two at night and the battery was about half full. I don’t have a solar panel. Warning: Horizon Main Battery

Our 2018 horizon has two batteries, one under each seat. I have been experimenting with charging them, the main battery through the 13 pin towbar socket. And the leisure battery through the power outlets in the back.

...one battery. It is under the passenger seat. There is no leisure battery in the Horizon. There is no battery under the bonnet. I used a compressor fridge for 2 weeks in September keeping the battery topped up with a suitcase type folding 120w solar panel in Cornwall. There were no problems...

    On the bandwagon

Thanks for the response. The idea of solar panels really appeals, we will have to see though whether we visit many wild enough places to justify them. My reading of the brochure is that the diesel aux heater is now standard equipment on new orders... Let's hope that turns out to be correct given...
