Heater remote

Yes you can have both options fitted.
The auxiliary “water” heater can be controlled from Mercedes Me and also has a egg shaped digital remote which can switch on and off and also set the times for it to come on, limited to 50 minutes. The temperature is set through the climate control in the vehicle and if set at its lowest can cool the van with air in at air temperature, but not chilled air - ie it dosnt switch on the A/C.
The auxiliary air heater has an oblong remote that switches the heater on and off. It is linked to the center console that runs the roof, fridge etc and temperature can be set through that. As it has a thermostat if you set the temperature it will control the output to that temperature and is not time limited.
I’ll post some pictures when I get a chance.

Thanks Dudry, yep definitely both heaters are fitted. I think (I am assuming) the Water Heater remote is Mercedes (its an option on many Mercs for cold climes) the centre controller (I assume) is a Westfalia product. The dealer has said they will sort it out in due course, there’s no rush before winter arrives,

Both remotes are shown as part of each respective package when ordered HY1 for the Auxialry Diesel Heater, HY2 for the Auxiliary Diesel Night Heater.

From what that missing so would really appreciate a pic any any other solid tech info people have about it.

Thanks

Simon

Not sure this helps but the user manual states that the remote needs to be synchronised with the MP by an authorised specialist workshop, MB I guess? Mine just worked out of the box.

I’ve just tried mine which was in a sealed plastic bag in the glove compartment. Doesn’t work - clearly not been out of the bag and no effort to pair it. Not surprised after my experience with the supplying dealer in S*********n!
Fairly optimistic that my local dealer in Dorchester will be able to sort it - they seem very competent.

Hi all, just out of interest does anyone know how to pair the diesel aux heater remote with the MP itself? Having some difficulties making this happen! Thanks!

Just heard from a contact of mine at Westfalia who I met at the factory in Rheda-Wiedenbrück last year. The following are his instructions for pairing the remote with the Eberspacher warm air diesel heater:

“First step : press all 3 buttons on the control unit for 5 seconds.(Button up ,down and the round one)
Second step: go on the heating symbol and scroll left till you see a remote control symbol.
Third step: press the up button and then you got 30 seconds to put in the batteries into the remote control
and the remote should turn on and connect.”

Not tried it myself as I finally worked out how to operate my remote, which was already paired.
