My 2019 Mp gives a problem every time the hood is opened, after closing it keeps telling me that the hood is open. Only after a number of tries to close it it stops. Any advice is welcomed.

It is the micros switches that is failing. You should either change the unit that it closes into with to micro switches (easy) or shortcut one and open “cut” the other. Have had same problem and chose the second option until I come Around to buy a new one

Thanks for this Torben. Any further info on how you do either of the options you describe? How does one change the micro switches (the receiver elements on either side of the roof?) or shortcut one and open the other? Any further info would be welcomed. Thanks.

Sure. When you close the hood there is a dual functioning unit that contains the micro switches. The easiest is to replace this complete unit. You should recognize it from where the bonnet latch connects in the engine compartment in the middle of the hood. But I did not have a replacement so i measured the two switches with a multimeter and found that one should be open and the other one closed. Don’t remember which one was which unfortunately. Btw you can get the whole unit on Ali express … but I have not tried it
