Instrument Cluster Issues

Hi MP owners - I would just like to share some information gained through my experince with a fault that I had last year with my instrument cluster.
The fault was intermittent on the centre digital display and the main dealer wanted £1500 for new cluster plus programming (£2000+)...
My local Independent (who are linked to the MB service system) sent it to ECU Testing who returned it saying that they couldn't repair it.
Through my facebook membership of the Mercedes 447 club, living in the South West, I was advised to contact Patryck at TOTALTRONICS in Dorchester.
He sorted the issue for £300 in 48hrs !
I cant recommend him highly enough and his feedback is second to none.

Another validation that Merc dealers don’t have a clue… thanks for the heads up….

Happy days. Can you advise what symptoms you were having in more detail?
The centre digital section was intermittent. Normally the LCD screen would be replaced but the fault was not the screen but one of the micro modules that controls it.
The cluster holds all the information for service and mileage so if replaced has to be reprogrammed to the vehicle to retain all of its history.

So the screen on the dash between the driver and the passenger would sometimes work and sometimes not? Would it flicker off and on or display nonsense?

Or is this the display in the instrument cluster in front of the driver?

Sorry not being thick i just haven’t heard of such an issue before and want to understand more clearly.

Great you got it fixed and that’s a good contact to have in the thread.

The Instrument Cluster....
MPH Clock on LHS, Rev Counter on RHS then digital display in the middle between them.
It was the digital display that was faulty - working, then not working.
