Hello,
we have a 2006 Marco Polo W639. On the roof there is an electric sun roof which can be operated both by the switches above the main console and by switches in the roof itself, which are accessible when the pop-up roof tent is raised. When you fully press any of these switches, the sun roof opens completely. It is also possible, using the switches, to open and close the sun roof to any desired position. What does not work on either switch is automatic closing to the fully closed end position. To close it, you always need to hold one of the switches until the sun roof closes completely. Also, operating the sun roof with the switches above the main console is only possible when the key is in the ignition and in position 1 or 2, while with the switch in the roof itself it is possible to open and close the sun roof even when the key is not in the ignition.
Can someone confirm whether automatic closing of the sun roof is even possible, because I came across information somewhere that for safety reasons it may be factory-disabled when it is a conversion with a pop-up roof tent.
