On the back of another thread in relation to the cost of servicing I thought I would post my experience as a long time Mercedes owner.
Up until 2014 we owned an R class for ten years. The servicing costs were eye watering. A major service was £1200.
We part exchanged it for an E class in 2014 and to try to reduce the service cost we took out a service plan. It was £48 per month but covered every service regardless of cost.
When we part exchanged it last November for our MP , Mercedes calculated that they owed us £900 and refunded us.
I will without doubt do the same with the MP.
Whilst I agree it’s a large amount of money every month it takes away the worry and maintains the warranty and breakdown cover.
