Service Care Plans

Why do Mercedes Benz UK sell and promote 2, 3 & 4 year ServiceCare Plan packages for the V Class Marco Polo when the recommended official service interval is every 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first?

Money spinner for them. The only possible scenario maybe is that that quote is not specific to MPs but generic V-Class so it could encompass higher mileage private hire vehicles perhaps??

But yes, says 3 services over 3 years. Doesn't really add up does it

What do Mercedes charge for servicing a Marco Polo?
What is the difference between an “A” service and a “B” service?

I can't remember figures but my 'C' class was similar. A & B is a small service then a big one and so on. Over the 4 years or so that I had the car, it was cheaper to pay as you go rather than a service plan. Although in fairness, it was a low mileage vehicle. If the Marco Polo is bought new, you need to factor in that any failed components are covered under warranty anyway, so really you are paying for checks and fluids and maybe the odd filter.
What a service plan gives you is convenience
