Rear storage hatch door opening

Hi, wonder if folks can advise. The hatch for the roof storage cupboard at the rear of my MP2018 opens whenever driving over bumps. This happens even when empty. I’ve tried packing out the hinges but it’s still happening. Any suggestions?

There is something about this from a few years ago but I can't remember which thread. Its not unusual for it to keep opening, we don't use ours for that reason, its a poor design. It might take a bit of searching but there is information on how to fix it somewhere on here!

I had to add slightly larger ones from the first ones I tried.
Since then it’s been fine unless hitting a dreaded pot hole
I put this on the forum back in aug 22 but guess you know this bit already

We had the reverse issue. Not being able to open it…. In the end a bit of force and managed to open. It exposed the failed latch. Unscrewed and removed the latch (easier to work on on table) and found the spring was very weak and had slipped out of its retaining location. It was a bit fiddly but a good stretch of the spring and re-assembly gave a much more stronger latch action.. all good now.
