kettle use in van

Hi all
we recently purchased a low voltage kettle from the camping shop, but it does not seem to work, works fine in the house, do i need a special adapter, we have the 2 pin adapter, but am i missing something.

Is it a 220-240v kettle? You can only used it if hooked up to the mains.
