Insurance question

Looking at a full fat MP. It has a tow bar and side awning both of which I believe to be manufacturer fitted.

Does anyone know of these should be declared as “modifications” as far as insurance is concerned.

Westfalia of course do the pop tops for the MP but presumably these are considered as OEM?

I can ask the insurance company of course but I’d like the benefit of your own experiences if possible.

**edit I’ll need to check with the seller if these items are non MB add ons. Will do so tomorrow.

It will depend on the insurance company on how it would be handled. If you go with a specialist company like Comfort, they understand campervans and motorhomes so its easy to process the application. If you use mainstream then you need to be careful that you get the non v-class elements included. Can be done but be the clerks on the end of the phone often get it wrong and its your fault if they do.

There are some good threads on here for insurance through search the function, I got 'comfort' from advice on here and they have been great, we have had one claim already for a bump, handled really well.

Thanks Steve, will check out Comfort Insurance today.
