Gas Check

Our MP will be 2 years old next month and I believe requires the gas system to be checked and certified fit for purpose.
Does this have to be done by an MB dealership ?
If not, does anyone know of a certified company/individual who could carry out this work ?
We live in N Yorks close to Harrogate.

Hi JulieG,

In the MP supplement manual Westfalia advises that a habitation check should be carried out every two years. However, it does not seem to be mandatory (may be just good practice ?) and so should not affect the warranty to the best of my knowledge. However, if you have one done, and it does show up a problem, then the problem should probably be rectified by Mercedes Benz under warranty. Given this, I intend to have a habitation check done around the time of the 2 year service. I haven’t decided upon who to use, but I have found the following: www.habcheck.co.uk . This organisation, seems to run a number of geographically based, franchised engineers, qualified to carry out such checks. You may want to check them out. I hope this helps. KR Andy B
