After 10 years with a LHD Viano MP we had a first look at and drive of a new V-class MP last weekend. A few thoughts and comparisons....
The V-Class is night and day better than the Viano - it drives like a car, the seating position isn't quite so van-like, it's got lots of toys and the split tailgate is really good. Didn't notice the extra few cm of length, it's still shorter than our van when we have the bike rack attached and the cameras help.
The conversion is the same layout as our old MP and not quite as 'bling' as I was expecting from photos.
there's a lot of cream, even with the black leather
Interior lighting is much better
Do the blinds really shut out sufficient light? They seem to be too far away from the windows (our old MP has curtains)
Is the wardrobe supposed to have a shelf (or two?) - there were holes to fit a shelf (same as our old one) but no shelf.
The little hatch into the wardrobe with the mirror is new and quite handy.
the sink looks very small
the bin has gone!
Not sure about the glass worktop - it helps let light in when it's raised but our basic kitchen affair seems like it might be more practical.
Is the table really sturdy enough, and is the table leg supposed to slot securely into the floor rail? It just seemed to rest on the rail rather than slot firmly into it as our old one does (although our table is a heavy thing stored in the side door card, not slid away next to the fridge)
The rear seat now sits on three rails and is much easier to move than ours (on 2 rails)
Like the black leather seats, the rear is comfy. The front seats have lost the armrests on the outside.
What is the table and chairs arrangement in the boot all about? It takes up loads of space and even if you take them out the frame to hold them still seems to take up space and limits the height of crates etc that will slide underneath the bed.
Only comes with an 80AH leisure battery - can this be upgraded?
there's a lot of cream.
All round liked it a lot with a few minor reservations.
