Hello all

i have a new Marco Polo, picked up in January. When the rear windscreen wiper is on, you can hear a relay clicking sound in the passenger foot well. Surely that's not correct. Its been in to MB today and they say that it is and they've confirmed by checking another vehicle that its the same. Im still not convinced. Ive posted on FB and already had one confirmation that it should be silent. Can anyone else confirm ?

Yes there is a solenoid in the passenger footwell that makes a small click whenever the wiper wipes, it also sounds like the pump that washes the rear window is also there..

Comforting to know there is some 1960s technology left and you don’t need to connect to the internet or have a software update for everything. (Ah ! but what’s controlling the solenoid?)
I shall now be listening for the click. I’m usually distracted by the rear wiper making a graunching noise and am reminded to clean the wiper and put some soap on it.
