I've just removed the awning from my 2017 MP, so here are a couple of pictures by way of a guide. First you need to fully unwind the awning and unscrew the bolts holding the awning to the brackets.
For the rear the top bracket bolt has a nut on the back, the other is threaded into a rivnut.

Front bracket bolts are both threaded into rivnuts.
The bolts are socket head, and are too recessed to use a standard allen key, so I used an allen key socket. The bolts are A2 stainless, so can easily be rounded out by the allen key (this happened to me on the rear lower bolt). I would recommend spraying some penetrating oil on the threads before trying to remove.
I managed to remove the rounded bolt by hammering a Torx screwdriver bit into the head, then using a ratchet on it to remove.
Once you've removed the four bolts wind the awning fully back in. The awning is hooked onto the brackets, so once the bolts are removed it can be lifted off vertically. I'd estimate it weighs 20-25kg, and managed to get it off by myself, but it would be easier with one person at each end.
The brackets are reasonably easy to remove (mixture of bolts and nuts with black plastic covers). The main issue again was rounding off the socket in the bolt heads. This happened on one of the rear bracket bolts, which is more difficult to deal with as the head faces the canvas. In the end I used a clamp to force a Torx bit into the head (tighten, wiggle, repeat), and removed with a ratchet wrench:
The bolts are M6 x 16mm socket head button screws with flange, A2 stainless steel. If your awning hasn't been removed for a long time (7 years for mine) I would recommend having some of these screws spare to replace the rounded ones. I'm considering getting some with a Torx head, as they should resist rounding a bit more.
