Alarm rating:

I have transferred the new MP onto the existing policy with/ via Safeguard.

However, the insurer has decreed that a Thatcham cat 1 alarm is a condition precedent to the policy. I did ask MB Cambridge a leading question - did the vehicle have a factory fitted Thatcham cat 1 alarm system and the answer was affirmative.

The insurer is now pressing for confirmation that the 2018 AMG V class MP does have a cat 1 rated alarm.

Upsettingly, MB Cambridge are now unsure and having to make special product enquiries .

In this context:

1. Has anyone else had similar issues?

2. Does anyone know the That Cham rating of the factory fitted alarm system on a 2018 MP AMG ?

The manual says nothing about it’s categorisation and this is not surprising. What does surprise is that this being a MB not Westfalia part MB Cambridge do not actually know the category fitted.

Hello, I'm a single lady trying to familiarise myself with 'everything' to do with my Mercedes Marco Polo. My MP was manufactured in 2018 (I don't know if this helps answering my question): How do I know if my MP has a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm/security system? I don't think it has a Tracker (I'm sure it doesn't) but I would love someone to enlighten me as to whether Mercedes Benz had Thatcham Cat 1 security systems installed as the norm. This is for insurance purposes and I don't know how to answer, even after looking through all my paperwork. It says nothing about alarms fitted. If you can help me with this query, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :-D
