2018 mp command screen

Hi everyone my screen did this today !
What’s the best option try to avoid main dealer - probably say sometime next year and huge £
I can get screens on line.. any ideas asap !!?

Can't help as this is the first time I've seen this. Good luck and I hope you find a cost effective solution; will be interested in the eventual solution. I use an MB approved garage in Nottingham, who have fixed faults and completed service's at a reasonable cost, I would try this type first. I expect the parts will have the MB premium tax added! My system is 2018, so have a vested interest!

I don't think it's a screen issue. From the picture, it looks like there's interference which could be a cabling/interconnect problem or a software issue. It's worth re-booting the system (press the system on/off button on central console for 15 secs) and see if that makes a difference. I don't think it's uncommon on other Mercedes with COMAND (according to a quick search on MBClub and MBEC forums) so as Steve says, it's worth asking a Mercedes Specialist to diagnose - it may simply be a re-load or update of software.

Hi guys thanks - currently got a slot at Mercedes Portsmouth and will revet with findings. oput the phone down on Mercedes Southampton for beeing an absalute jole - 3 weeks?? ( And im their customer and its a warranty item!!)

Update: just been told new Command center £1500.00 - joke being that its not going to get any Navigation/maps/upgrades as the SD card has been discontinued on this vehicle 2018 - and impossible to get anothe ( MBUK) - where does that leave me now plus others??
HELP!! - how can they sell me this and not fit for purpose ?? (

If its a new one can it run carplay, also DAB (with an aerial)? I would swap straight away if the choice was there and I was forced to pay due to a malfunction. My maps are out of date and its getting more noticeable, but not to the extent of £250 for an upgrade. My only big worry for my 2018 maps is city centres, and one way streets that change over time - going the wrong way!

To retrofit carpay is £800 plus, so that may take some of the pain away.

Hi - touch wood all sorted reboot with software etc etc at present working well they even supplied me SD card (old one corrupted) £100!
The visit to Lightwater was £500- they said if it’s sorted great if not new command
But 99% sure- they would do a new command cheaper than MBUK and while I wait … with new SD card if required . All in all - what a service - refreshing to find a firm that « can do »! leaving for France next week !!

Thats great news, I did speak to them a couple of years ago about carplay/DAB, but at the time decided to keep it as is for a while longer. I've sort of got DAB using on line app, but its a faff compared to just having it as a selectable channel. Trouble is now the FM channels are dwindling and my maps are getting noticeably out of date, so need to consider the upgrade.

Good to hear that Comand are a decent outfit.

Hi, what is the name of the Nottingham garage ? I also live in the Nottingham area and would appreciate the name of the garage. Six months ago a garage put new brake pads on resulting in a warning on the dashboard, the garage said to ignore it!!! Recently I now cannot access any messages from the Home button, no trip info, or any of the other useful information.

My command system died last month.. saw this thread and went to Comand in Lightwater. Most excellent. great service, really know their stuff. Had to get a new unit fitted, so had DAB also installed (and additional hidden aerial.) not cheap, but well worth it and have to say they are really good. They upgraded the European Maps and as I had the updates via Mercedes Me it's all good.Well worth the hassle, cheaper than Merc and they know more about the systems anyway!!
