19” AMG wheel cracked

Visited some friends on Sunday, a nice 1h 5 min drive parked the car, left it until Tuesday and after moving the car a couple of parking spaces to load up I noticed the NSR tyre was looking low.. upon leaving the tyre pressure warning came on and I popped into a petrol station to pump it up thinking we has picked up a slow puncture… continued our drive and within the hour we needed to stop again, so we pumped it up again and continued home.
Dropped the car off for a puncture repair/tyre and they called to inform me the wheel was cracked and they will fit the spare for me. 2018 v220 AMG.

I am the only driver, and that wheel (on the front) did take a pothole in Scotland for a double puncture about 4years ago, it’s been on the back since I had new tyres fitted 04/21. I don’t bump kerbs, and I have no recollection of any form of impact, pothole or debris… I am fully aware how susceptible these wheels/tyres are to kerb damage so I avoid potholes and any other feature likely to tear a hole in the tyres.

There is no tyre or significant rim damage on that wheel and the crack is on the internal rim nearly all the way to the well, the wheel is currently with a diamond cut wheel specialist awaiting repair. His opinion was that it’s unusual for OEM wheels to do this but a common occurrence on aftermarket rims. His fee £120

to be honest I was quite surprised at the damage/marks on the inside of the wheel - it has had one tyre fitted MB in Perth.. and like I said I am really careful..
